So you have made the decision to rent a storage unity in SW Ft. Worth, a convenient way to store your items during summer break or to make room in your office, while still storing important documents and resources in a safe and secure environment. Here are some things to consider as you move into your new storage unit:
Tip #1 – Review your storage unit, plan how you will be using ig and make a list of packing accessories you will need. Commonly used packing aids include such items as newsprint or wrapping paper, bubble-wrap, tape, rope, drop cloths, polyurethane sheeting, mattress and furniture covers, pallets, skids dehumidifiers, and cartons. The manager may have some or all of these items for sale on the premises.
Tip #2 – Leave a walkway to the rear of the unit. Use all the space available, including its height. Disassemble items such as bed frames.
Tip #3 – Place frequently used items near the door.
Tip #4 – Fill containers to capacity, but do not overfill. Partially full or bulging cartons may tip or collapse.
Tip #5 – Fragile items should be cushioned by packing and placed toward the top of the unit.
Tip #6 – Label cartons and take home a list of the labeled cartons for easy reference when you need to locate individual items later.
Tip #7 – You may want to cover items, like furniture or other large items that cannot be stored in containers.
